Just in time for summer, we finished our Outdoor Cypress Dining table. This table will be outside in our client’s backyard oasis. It sits proudly under the cover of their outdoor kitchen and in view of the pool. Coming in at 9 foot long, this table and complimentary benches seat 10 comfortably.

The table and benches are constructed completely of solid cypress. It is made to withstand the elements but is pretty enough to be used inside. Cypress is popular for exterior applications where longevity and beauty are important. Cypress’s natural oils attribute to it’s water, rot and insect resistance. Cypress takes an outdoor stain well. This can be beneficial when matching the color to your existing outdoor decor or furnishings.

We used a massive X trestle style base for the table supports. The base is bolted to the top for rigidity. This highly supportive, low tip design is equally aesthetic. The two matching benches use the classic U base supports.

Our modern Walnut Parsons table is constructed completely of solid, local Missouri hardwood walnut. Similarly to the original Parsons table, the four legs are square in cross-section, flush with the edges of the top and apron, and equal to the apron in width.

Our challenge (besides lifting this heavy beast) was designing and building a table that complimented our client’s country club home, becoming the focal point in their luxury dining room. This table nailed it! It appears basic at first blush, but the subtle complexities highlight its contemporary elegance. The deep, rich walnut finish, the clean, straight lines, and the complex mitered legs to the flush apron joint easily making this table stand out.

At 8 feet long and 44 inches in width, our Walnut Parsons table fits 8 people comfortably. This is the perfect gathering spot for family and friends as you host your next engagement. It is certain to be an heirloom passed down for generations to come.
